Facilities and Operations strives to supply the services that will help the university reach its 50 per cent waste diversion goal. You can help by taking steps to recycle and compost waste. Together, we can all keep the University of Alberta’s commitment to the environment.

2011 Campus Waste Highlights

Campus waste contains many different components. Approximately 92 per cent is either recyclable or compostable, and the remaining eight per cent is waste.

In 2011, approximately 32 per cent of campus waste was diverted (recycled or composted), a 10 per cent improvement from 2005/2006.
